About the Event
Oktoba is the project of Alt-folk singer songwriter Chris Athorne. Based in Brighton, Chris’s music speaks of life, love and everything in-between.
Drawing inspiration from Damien Rice, Bon Iver and Kurt Vile. Oktoba’s latest album ‘What a Life’, released September 2022, is a collection of Chris’s most personal tracks to date and has been acclaimed to be his best work yet. Written in a time of becoming a father and the emotional road it takes to get there. It reflects on a time of age and change, moving from youth too adult. With songs of reflection in tough times and the care and love we cherish from those closest to us.
‘What A Life’ is a real example to the honest depths and quality of Chris as a songwriter.
